Nick Rhodes
Nick was drafted out of high school by the Tampa Bay Rays, but decided to wait and instead enroll at Norwalk Community College. There, as the starting catcher and the team captain, he led the team to the Junior College National Championship. After college, Nick was again drafted by the Rays. His tenure with the organization lasted three years where he played at various levels of the minor leagues. In addition to teaching baseball to kids of all ages, Nick is a certified strength and conditioning coach.
Bill DiStefano
Billy, an All-FCIAC selection played for the 1993 Norwalk High School team, helping lead them to the first undefeated season in FCIAC history. After graduation, Billy went on to play for the Bryant Bulldogs. As a four year starter and team captain, Billy was selected to the All-Conference team as a catcher and also as an outfielder. In 1998, Billy was selected as a First Team All-New England Outfielder and was also honored as the Bryant University Athlete of the Year. Billy graduated with a .368 batting average and was in the top five in RBI’s (1st), Hits (2nd), Walks (2nd), Doubles (2nd), Home Runs (4th), and Stolen Bases (5th). Billy finished his career by being inducted into the Bryant Hall Of Fame in 2006 and has enjoyed working with athletes in the area, helping them reach their full potential.
Mike Forsythe - Softball
Mike Grew up in Indiana and started playing men's fastpitch at the age of 18. Mike played for 23 years and during those years was a member of 11 Indiana State Championships, 9 Midwest Champs, 1 Men’s Major ASA National Championship and finished 3rd in ISC World Tournament. Mike also played and trained for 2 years in New Zealand. Mike started coaching women in 1992 as a pitching coach for SMC, Southwest Michigan College and most recently worked with Southern Connecticut University, Quinnipiac University, Fordham University, where his pitchers led the nation in team ERA in 2010 with a 1.34. Mike is currently Northern Colorado State's pitching coach. Coach Mike’s summer duties include controlling the pitching staff for the Akron Racers of the National Pro Fastpitch League. Coach Mike has worked with Angela Tincher (2007 Honda College player of the year), Angel Shamblin ( U of Houston All-American), Radara McHugh (All-American and NPF championship game winning pitcher), and Kelly Kretchman and Jenny Topping of the USA National team.
Angel Espada
Angel has 15 years of professional playing experience with the NY Mets, NY Yankees, ATL Braves and Bridgeport Bluefish organizations. He is currently the all-time Bridgeport Bluefish leader in hits, stolen bases and triples. In 1999, he was named the Baseball America All-Independent League shortstop. Angel was the Florida League Batting Champion with a .356 batting average in 1999, and again in 2000 hitting .337. With over 1,000 career hits, Angel holds a life-time batting average of .307. He currently works as the hitting and infield coach for the Florida Marlins Gulf Coast League in Jupiter, Florida.
Mike Riveles
Mike attended Division One Pace University on a baseball scholarship. While at Pace, he earned first team Mid-Continent Conference honors as a relief pitcher. In addition, he was invited to play for the Front Royal Cardinals in the Valley Baseball League – a prestigious wooden bat collegiate summer league. Following his senior year, Mike was signed by and played for the St. Louis Cardinals organization. He also played for the Springfield Capitals of the Independent Frontier League.
Gary Dunn
Gary attended Wilton High School and played centerfield for the Warriors. He was a three time All-FCIAC selection and a two time All-State selection. At the completion of his senior season, Gary received the tremendous honor of being named to the High School All-American team. Following his success at the high school level, Gary attended the University of Connecticut and played outfield for the Huskies in the highly competitive Big EAST Conference.
